Foto
Verde Tours' customized photo itineraries are perfect
if you are traveling alone or with a few family members
or friends. We also will build a customized itinerary
for photographers interested in leading photographic
groups to Costa Rica. Indeed, if you are a photographer
bringing a group of more than 7 participants, you
travel free (not including airfare)! You can choose
to concentrate primarily on photography or to mix
photography with natural history learning and adventure
opportunities such as white water rafting and canopy
ziplines -- a perfect option for groups with both
photographers and non-photographers.
You can also choose
your style of travel. Foto Verde will arrange all
of your transportation along with a full-time photo
guide to ensure that you improve your photography
and get the shots you want throughout your trip. Or
if you prefer to travel independently, Foto Verde
will arrange your lodging and transportation, whether
by private driver or rental car. If traveling on a
self-guided itinerary, consider a one or two-day workshop
with Foto Verde's Gregory Basco at the beginning of
your trip. However you travel, leave the logistics
to Foto Verde, and concentrate on your photography
and enjoyment of Costa Rica's amazing ecosystems and
people!
Below we offer a number
of sample itineraries for you to use in planning your
trip. You can book one of these ready-made itineraries
or you can work with Foto Verde to customize your
own itinerary according to your specific photo and
travel interests. These itineraries are designed to
cut down on travel time between destinations while
maximizing photo opportunities. Indeed, we use mid-priced
ecolodges that have great photographic opportunities
right on the grounds! All of our itineraries feature
destinations preferred by Greg and Paulo for their
own photography.

Biodiversity Sampler
Our Biodiversity Sampler itinerary is designed to offer
travelers a wide mix of the photographic subjects found
in Costa Rica's diverse habitats, including lowland
rainforests, cool misty cloud forests, and cactus-studded
dry forests. If your photo interests range broadly,

Digital Learning Adventure
This itinerary is all about rainforests and the
magnificent creatures that inhabit them. Plus we've
selected ecolodges that have amenities important to
the digital photographer, including Internet access
and computer room space. This itinerary is designed
to cater especially to groups and travelers that want
to combine some digital classroom time with photography
in the field. We will make time for informal, hands-on
learning and photo review throughout the trip. If you

Tropical Fauna & Flora
This photo adventure is perfect for photographing
Costa Rica's abundant wildlife and fantastic plants.
You will range from 10,000 feet above sea level down
to the Pacific Coast beaches in search of photographic

sloths, frogs, orchids, and bromeliads.

travel photographer, this innovative itinerary focuses
on ecolodges run by small farmers attempting to combine
ecotourism with their traditional agricultural activities.

will come away with great shots of people working, playing,
and going about their daily lives. Of course, you'll
also obtain photos of tropical crops, fruits, and food
and some great nature images as well!
