Verde client honored!
Foto Verde client Cristobal Serrano of Spain won two
highly commended honors in the prestigious European
Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition for 2006.
Two images taken by Cristobal Serrano while on a photo
tour with Foto Verde's Gregory Basco were the winners,
and Cristobal thanked Foto Verde for helping make the

Supporting
conservation through photos
Greg and Paulo recently attended a public ceremony at
Costa Rica's National Legislature to unveil a new photography
project sponsored by the National University of Costa
Rica's Department of Environmental Sciences. An audience
including congresspersons, government ministers, conservationists,
and academics viewed hundreds of nature and environmental
photos as part of the new Galeria Ambientalista. Paulo
has shared a number of photos for the project, and Greg
donated hundreds of photos while working closely with
the project directors to launch this innovative initiative
that seeks to make high-quality images of Costa Rica's
ecosystems and environment available to the Costa Rican
public for educational purposes.

Verde works with Canon
Canon Europe visited Costa Rica recently to film a promotional
DVD featuring Greg shooting in the rainforest. Paulo helped
to arrange all of our travel and to serve as expert naturalist
guide during the filming. The Canon crew said that it
was one of the most enjoyable shoots on which they've
ever worked.
