Foto Verde private tours are perfect for individual photographers, small groups of 2 to 4, or family trips combining photography and vacation. Our itineraries have been designed personally by Greg and Paulo and include our favorite places to photograph. And our routes are efficient. Traveling from one place to another can take time in Costa Rica, and we want you to have as much time to photograph, relax, and enjoy nature.

About Our Private Tours
THE BEST LODGES
The lodges we choose for our private tour offerings are the same that we use for many of our group workshop tours. These are Greg's favorite lodges for photography as well as comfortable, friendly and safe accommodations.
GREAT DAILY ACTIVITIES
We have worked hard to develop relationships with some of the best daily activity providers in the country and with a special eye toward the needs of the photographer. Unlike many itineraries you might see on the web, our private tour itineraries include day trips that we ourselves recommend for photography. It may cost a little more but we won't send you on a day trip meant for general tourists and tell you that you'll get great photos. We're photographers, and the tours included on our private itineraries are the same ones we would use if we were the client.
GREAT FOOD
All of the lodges and restaurants we include on our itineraries offer fresh, local food, often with an international twist. If you have special dietary preferences or requirements, we will be happy to work with the lodges and hotels to ensure that you enjoy your dining experience as much as your photography.
We were thrilled with our bird photography adventure in Costa Rica. Foto Verde provided outstanding service and arranged every detail to maximize our opportunities. We captured some amazing photographs of many of our target birds, including the almost unbelievable Resplendent Quetzal. Jose was an excellent driver/guide and we thoroughly enjoyed his expertise and friendship. We can't wait to return!

Customize Your Foto Verde Private Tour
We can help you to customize your Foto Verde Tour a few different ways. First, you have the option of having a full-time combination guide/driver (such as Jose Lopez, pictured at right), letting us handle private transfers from hotel to hotel, or arranging a rental car for you. Second, we can add or subtract daily activities according to your preference. Maybe your family would like to do a canopy tour or visit a sustainable chocolate plantation? Or perhaps you would like to try your hand at multiple-flash hummingbird photography or add an additional river boat trip for photography? No problem! We will work with you to customize the itineraries offered according to your tastes. Third, if you don't see anything that whets your appetite here or if you are coming for a shorter or longer period of time, just contact us, and we'll be happy to work with you. And fourth, if you want to concentrate on certain subjects (say, particular species of birds or frogs), just let us know, and we'll work with you to help you get the images you want.
